The controversial discharge of firearms bylaw in Lake of Bays has been passed. Mayor Bob Young says it wasn’t a unanimous decision.
Meantime, many residents against the bylaw believe there is no use for the bylaw since there are regulations already in place provincially and federally. However, Young says he’s happy to finally have it on the books.
Young says the bylaw offers guidance to residents who may not know what the regulations are. Young does say council recognizes it’s going to be difficult to enforce.
