Bracebridge Fire Hall Station #1 on the move?

Bracebridge councilors will be at Bracebridge Fire Hall Station #1 on Dominion Street tonight (March 17th) to hear more about plans to relocate the hall to Taylor Road. The special meeting will hear from Fire Chief Murray Medley who will provide an update on the new station’s layout and design.

The current hall’s size isn’t suited for today’s fire fighting needs. Given that, the Town is close to clinching a deal with Hydro One for the property at 225 Taylor Road, which would also house a new District EMS base. More from Medley on the plans…

Medley would like to see a shovel in the ground within the next year and a half. Preliminary figures peg the size of the new facility at between 13 and 14,000 square feet. Medley says the current hall was built in 1981 and that it’s too small for the department’s needs now. (Photo: www.Bracebridgefire.com)
