'Bring Gary Home' concert raised over $20,000; Proceeds still coming in

Over 300 people came out in support of 2012’s Muskoka citizen of the year Gary Froude who is suffering from a mystery virus. The ‘Bring Gary Home’ fundraiser held at the JW Marriott the Rosseau on January 4th topped the $20,000 mark and proceeds are still rolling in. The concert/silent auction and coffee house event was rocked by Juno award winning musician Ian Thomas who was joined on the stage by another Canadian music great Marc Jordan. Froude is currently recovering in Barrie from a devastating illness that has left him paralyzed. He may still need convalescent care like physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Froude is an active member of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge and has been a driving force in bringing to Muskoka the Kaleidescope Children’s Festival, First Nations festivals and other events.
