Extreme Cold Warning in effect
It’s gonna get cold again tonight. Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Parry Sound and Muskoka as a frigid arctic airmass will combine with light to moderate winds to produce wind chill values between minus 35 and minus 40 overnight and early tomorrow morning. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia. Those at greater risk of frost bite and hypothermia include infants and seniors, outdoor workers, winter sport enthusiasts, homeless people or those living in poorly insulated homes, and anyone with certain medical conditions such as diabetes.
