Taxes are going up in Huntsville. Council passed its 2015 budget yesterday and it will see a levy increase of just over 3.5 percent. As well, the Chamber of Commerce had asked Council for $90,000 this year for the ‘Marketing Our Communities’ initiative, but Council decided to only give them $60,000. Aitchison says a committee’s being struck between the Town and the Chamber to see how that initiative should look and how to get the best bang for their buck.
