Bracebridge apartment fire victim has passed away

The woman who was sent to Sunnybrook in critical condition after Saturday night’s apartment fire in Bracebridge has died. OPP say 63 year-old Gwendolyn Cartwright died this morning in hospital. Occupants from neighbouring apartments  at the complex, located at 19 Monck Road are still displaced at this point and arrangements are being made to meet their needs through the Bracebridge Salvation Army and Muskoka Victim Services. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshalls’ office and the Muskoka Crime Unit.   Two dogs who were in Cartwright’s apartment unit also perished in the blaze.
