Oakley councillor drawing attention to terrible road conditions

Oakley Ward councillor Barb McMurray says the state of some roads in Bracebridge needs prompt attention. McMurray says roads in her ward continue to be in rough shape. She says the Town needs to get back to the basics and start spending more taxpayer money on infrastructure – namely, roads. She says Bird Lake Road, Old Victoria Road and Miriam Drive are all a total mess. While it could be chalked up to the weather causing heaving, she says something should still be done to fix things. She’s also heard complaints about bad road conditions in Purbrook as well. McMurray says more money should be spent on roads, so people can get to work and into town safely. She says more Public Works staff are need too, to keep up on ditching along roadsides.
