Parry Sound and Muskoka is under an extreme cold warning. Environment Canada issued the warning as wind chill values this afternoon are expected to be between minus 25 and minus 35 across central and eastern Ontario. Despite winds diminishing tonight, wind chill values of minus 35 to minus 40 are expected overnight and into Friday morning across our districts. Meanwhile, our Health Unit says serious health conditions can result from extreme cold and those at highest risk are infants and the elderly, those who don’t have shelter, are stranded, live in a poorly insulated home or are without heat, and anyone exposed to cold for a long period of time.
