OFAH ‘concerned’ with the MNR’s proposed moose hunting changes

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters is not happy with the MNR’s proposed moose hunting changes for Northern Ontario. MNR Spokesperson Jolanta Kowalski says the proposed shortening of calf hunting season in 2015 will reduce hunting pressures. She also says shortening it again in 2016 will give moose more time to finish mating before hunting season begins. Mark Ryckman, Senior Wildlife Biologist at OFAH seems to disagrees…

Ryckman adds the OFAH has concerns about hunters having to hunt in northern Ontario in the same two-week period. Kowalski says the Ministry looks forward to hearing from many Ontarians on the issue.
