Students at Almaguin Highlands Secondary have a unique opportunity to work with an elder. Elder and Eagle Staff Carrier Dan Commanda comes to the school through their Artist in Residence Program. Commanda is there to help students with a number of storytelling, art and drumming projects, one of which is creating a colour will depicting animals that symbolizes students understanding of themselves. Music Teacher Christine Rourke says Commanda captures the interest of students with his voice and stories that resonate.
