Environment Canada says winter sticking around a little longer

Despite what Wiarton Willie is going to predict this Groundhog Day, Environment Canada says winter isn’t over. Senior Climatologist David Phillips says you won’t be putting away your winter coats anytime soon.

Although winter is going to stay a little while longer, Phillips says the good news to take from this is that we will actually have a typical Spring season in Muskoka.

Overall, Phillips says winter was much better than last winter. December 2013 and January 2014 were one of the coldest periods on record.

Phillips says we also had less snowfall. The first official day of Spring is on Mar. 20.
