Huntsville draft 2015 budget shows a five per cent increase

Huntsville has taken a first look at their 2015 budget. At the Jan. 28 general committee meeting, council discussed the first draft. Deputy Mayor Karin Terziano says they’re starting at a 5.23 per cent increase.

One of the items in the budget council is focusing on is public works. Terziano says there’s a conscious effort to increase the public works budget to improve our roads and sidewalks.

Council also looked at new initiates and projects they would like to see in the budget this year.

A special budget meeting has been scheduled for Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.
