Huntsville High School’s principal says it’s important parents learn about child and youth mental health. The school is hosting a presentation on the subject tonight. Principal Kim Williams says they are finding more families struggling with the stress of trying to survive in today’s society.
Williams says this in turn affects students’ ability to focus in school and make good decisions for themselves. Certified Trainer in Trauma Informed Care Allison Jones is running the event. It’s happening in the school’s library at 6:30 p.m. Williams says this presentation will enable parents to gain an understanding of how the brain develops.
