40-unit seniors complex proposed for Bracebridge

A new senior’s home is in the works for Bracebridge. At a recent meeting, council heard a proposal for the River’s Edge Luxury Senior’s Suites, which would be a 40-unit senior’s complex. Bracebridge’s Director of planning and development, Cheryl Kelly says the first phase is 26 units and the second phase is 14. We asked what issues this has for our waterfront.

The property at 200 Anglo Street is currently designated multi-residential. Kelly says it was a very well attended meeting and several concerns were raised.

Staff will return to council with a recommendation on whether the Town should approve or deny the rezoning.
