District deploying more equipment to deal with snow

The District of Muskoka says it’s deploying more equipment to deal with recent snowfall.

Officials say current conditions have slowed winter maintenance operations, and ask for drivers to be patient. They add that trucks and plows are also pulling longer shifts to make up the difference.

As more snow is forecasted for the next few days, the district asks drivers to be prepared:

Before you leave, install snow tires, clear snow and ice off your car, keep your windows and mirrors clear, and make sure you’re fully fueled or charged.

When driving, leave ample distance between vehicles on the road, keep your running lights on, and avoid cruise control, as well as keep your phone off and seatbelt on.
