Emergency exercise being held at The Pines in Bracebridge

An emergency evacuation simulation is happening Wednesday at The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge.

Officials with the District of Muskoka, who operate the home, say it’s part of a controlled emergency exercise and is being done in coordination with police, firefighters, paramedic services, and community partners along with staff and volunteers that work at home. “It is important that we practice and plan for unexpected events so that if we are ever faced with them, we are prepared,” the officials say.

They add that to not be worried if you see “unexpected activity” during the day, “but don’t be alarmed, it’s not real,” the officials go on to say.

“Thank you to the public, residents, and staff for supporting this very important event at The Pines,” the officials say.
