Local LHIN might be affected by possible Care Coordinators strike

Care coordinators with the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) will be taking strike votes in the next few weeks. This affects 10 Community Care Access Centres (CCAC) in Ontario. The ONA says after three days of mediation, the employer walked away from the table, leaving care coordinators with no choice but to take strike action. The ONA members have been trying to reach a new contract since last March, which includes higher pay and benefits. A strike will affect the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN. We have contacted the ONA and will follow up as the story unfolds.
