Volunteer Muskoka hosts community conversations

The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce has developed a volunteer strategy for Muskoka. Project Manager Jennifer Montpetit says Volunteer Muskoka will support volunteers and community groups by offering training sessions throughout Muskoka.

There are community conversations happening across the district to give you an opportunity to learn more about the program. Yesterday was their first session in Lake of Bays. Montpetit says it was developed after hearing the community wanted a one-stop shop for volunteers and organizations.

Some training has already begun, but Montpetit says they need more information on the community’s specific needs when it comes to volunteers. Montpetit says not only will it help volunteer and organizations; it will help generate economic impact.
