Denniel Tuttle is a Huntsville local who goes to school at the University of Ottawa. She was there under lockdown, yesterday, during the shootings in that city for several hours. Her mother Cherrie says the school never gave them an official dismissal. She says students were told to leave at their own risk.

Cherrie says she’s grateful for the community support she and her daughter has received through this ordeal.

Tuttle was in a classroom with no windows and couldn’t see what was happening. Cherrie says she is now safe in her home in Gatineau.
