Local author receives prestigious award

A local author is headed to Queen’s Park today to receive a prestigious award. Gary Denniss is getting the 2013 Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Lifetime Achievement. He found out about it on January 13th. He’s receiving it for his numerous books and looking after the Langford Heritage Cemetery on Forrester Trail off Muskoka Road 117. Denniss has written 34 books which cover the local history of Muskoka and Bracebridge.
We got Denniss’s reaction to receiving the award.

He’s currently writing his 35th book, which will be called ‘Historic Routes of Bracebridge’. Denniss is making the trip with his family and Bracebridge councilor Steve Clement.
