Snow squalls continue across the district

Mother Nature isn’t done with us yet when it comes to snow. Snow squall warnings continue for Parry Sound-Muskoka and Almaguin.

Although it looks like we won’t get a repeat of yesterday’s nasty weather, Environment Canada says the squalls are coming off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, making it possible for up to 15 centimetres of snow today. We will feel the wind chills as well, almost at minus 30 degrees.

Visibility on our roads and highways will be near zero at times. The OPP is asking you to turn on all your vehicle lights when going through hard-to-see areas. Police also say it’s best to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary.

There is some good news though. The weather agency says the squalls will start to weaken by tonight.
