Muskoka Initiative aims at helping families worldwide
Prime Minister Stephen Harper is committed to helping mothers and children in the world’s poorest countries have safer and healthier lives. Parry Sound Muskoka MP Tony Clement says the Muskoka Initiative is moving in full swing to make sure global action is made. Clement says since the issue was put on the table in 2010, maternal mortality rates have declined and millions of children are making it to their fifth birthday. To make sure progress continues, a number of developing country partners will be selected where mothers and their children can receive the proper vaccinations required to stay healthy. Medication and nutrition will also be provided.
