THIS JUST IN: Charges in local bear killing case dropped
Charges that were facing a man who was seen beating a bear on the head with a rock have been dropped. The incident happened back in November on Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst. When asked to comment on the Crown decision to drop the charges, OSPCA Agent Brad Dewar told the Moose the OSPCA respects the judicial system and follows it accordingly. The beating, which was captured in photographs, sparked outrage amongst some residents. The man had been facing OSPCA charges of causing an animal to be in distress and failing to kill an animal by a humane method.
