Over $1-million approved for road construction in Huntsville

The Town of Huntsville is going to spend $1.2-million for spring road construction. Although construction isn’t going to start just yet because of current winter conditions, the town already has the list of what they’ll be working on. Public Infrastructure Executive Director Matthew Hartney says about $300,000 is going towards road work at Hidden Valley.

Others roads include the second lay of asphalt on Forbes Hill, Cann and Elm Streets, Lone Pine and more. Sidewalks are on the list of action items as well.

Where the town will focus on this year hasn’t been finalized yet. Although the town is technically in the off season until April 15th,  Hartney says it doesn’t stop staff from doing maintenance work where needed this time of year.

The town is looking to get started on the project possibly at the end of April or early May, depending on the weather.
