A Huntsville teen is on the road to recovery but still has a long way to go. Last Friday, Gabrielle Hickey was on a road trip with her grandparents to Georgia for an ATV race, when they got into a serious collision. Hickey suffered a severe spinal injury.
She was in surgery yesterday to install two rods in her back. Doctors are monitoring her progress before the send her to Toronto for further treatment. Hickey’s grandmother also suffered serious injuries, but is recovering. Her grandpa however, died on scene.
An account has been set up at the the Kawartha Credit Unions, across the district, to help raise money for the family.
