A local beauty is representing Muskoka in the upcoming Miss World Canada pageant. Twenty-five-year-old Sindy Nguyen is competing in May. She says competing in pageants is something she’s always wanted to do, but never thought she was tall enough, pretty enough or even Caucasian enough to compete in the past.

The Huntsville native says Miss World Canada will give her the platform to prove herself.

Nguyen was one of 40 people selected to go to Vancouver from May 6th to May 11th. The first part of the week is the preliminary rounds, where she will try to get into the top 16.
