Ontario's premier congratulates Dara Howell on winning gold

It still seems like a dream that a freestyle skier from Huntsville made it to the podium. Dara Howell is the first woman to bring home the gold in Slopestyle skiing.

Premier Kathleen Wynne took the time to speak with us and says it’s great to have an Ontario athlete make that first.

Quebec’s Kim Lamarre also made it to the podium with bronze. This the first year Slopestyle has been introduced in the Winter Olympics.

Meantime, as Canada continues to climb in the medal count, Wynne says our success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our athletes.
