This past weekend 8 local badminton players travelled to Peterborough for the latest provincial badminton tournament. Players from prominent Toronto clubs, as well as the 8 members of the Bracebridge Knight Hawks all competed. It was so well attended that the U19’s had to be moved to their own facility to accommodate the huge number of registrants. The Knight Hawks faced tough opposition but at the end of the day 6 players brought home medals for both singles and doubles play. The U19 girls performed especially well, with Katie Harris taking B Finalist in singles, and A Finalist in doubles with partner Dorothy Duck. Vanessa Dunlop also took C Champion with her partner in doubles. These girls will be representing our region in the upcoming Ontario Winter Games.
