Crime Stoppers calls 2013 a success

It’s been a successful 2013 for Crime Stoppers in Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka. The anonymous tip agency says over 4,000 people picked up the phone to report a crime, which helped police clear over 80 cases. Crime Stoppers also says police made over 100 arrests, laid almost 230 charges and recovered about $400,000 worth of property and illegal drugs. The local Crime Stoppers board approved almost $19,000 in reward payments to tipsters in 2013.
