Health Unit: keeping warm in these cold temps

The bitterly cold temps continue and our health unit wants to make sure you’re dressing warmly. Emergency Management Coordinator, with the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit, Shernette Clarke says any exposed skin in these temps could be at risk for frost bite.

Clarke says staying warm and safe can be a challenge during any cold months.

It’s not just important for us to stay warm, but our furry friends as well. Clarke suggests keeping them inside as much as possible. Or if you have a dog, cover their paws when they go outside.

The health unit is asking you stay indoors, during extreme cold weather, if you can and make sure your heat is at a comfortable temperature.
