Two southern Ontario men fined from hunting incident

Two men from southern Ontario have been fined close to $3000 for hunting-related offences in the Parry Sound District. A Sundridge court heard in November that MNR officers investigated a complaint of a white-tailed deer being shot on and removed from private property on November 14th. The investigation revealed that one of the men shot at an antlerless deer on private property that they had been told they were not permitted to be on with a group of hunters. After shooting the deer, the group went into town to purchase groceries then returned some time later and tracked the wounded animal onto another private property they knew they were not permitted to hunt. The group failed to place their game seal on the deer and moved it to a basement storage area. The Brantford man has to pay $2500 after being found guilty trespassing to hunt, failing to immediately seal big game, and possessing wildlife that was killed illegally while a Burford man was fined $250 for trespassing to hunt.
