Environment Canada issuing a special weather statement for Muskoka and Parry Sound

We could see some bad weather in Parry Sound and Muskoka over the next couple of days. Environment Canada is tracking two weather systems, one from Alberta and the other from Texas, that are heading for the Great Lakes and are expected to merge later this week.

The systems are expected to bring rising temperatures, also significant precipitation and strong winds. Meteorologists says the system will drop rain in Southern Ontario late Thursday and as it moves north it will hit colder air and start as snow before changing back to rain.

During the transitions, freezing rain and ice pellets are possible. The system is expected to last through Friday and the weather agency will continue to monitor the development of these two systems.
