District Council approves Muskoka Airport expansion

District Council has approved an expansion at the Muskoka Airport which will pave the way for new local jobs and businesses. The decision was made in a 13-9 recorded vote. Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith, who is also a District Councillor, tells the Moose he’s in favour of it. Smith says there are funding opportunities through the Federal and Provincial levels of government that can help make it happen. The businesses that locate on the new seven acres would likely be airport related, but there’s no timeline on any of it yet. The expansion area could be separated into acre size lots, but ultimately lots will be apportioned size-wise in terms of the needs of businesses that locate there.
