Police disappointed in number of impaired drivers during Festive RIDE campaign

The OPP is disappointed in the number of impaired drivers that were ticketed in Ontario throughout the Festive RIDE campaign. From November 24th to January 2nd, OPP officers laid 593impaired charges and issued 485 warn range suspensions.  Sadly, one person died in an impaired-related collision on December 20th. When comparing number to last year, police say there is very little difference in the amount of tickets. Officers worked around the clock during the campaign, conducting more than 8,000 RIDE check stops throughout the province. Police would like to thank all of the people who chose not drink and drive.
