FedNor money helping area municipalities and tourism organizations

$320,000 is going to help area municipalities and tourism organizations. The FedNor announcement was made today in Gravenhurst by Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement.

The Town of Bracebridge is gettingĀ $155,000 to implement a tourism branding strategy, install new
signage and conduct a variety of marketing activities. The money will also allow BracebridgeĀ to hire a youth intern for a two-year period to help realize the project.

TheĀ Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society is gettingĀ $78,750 to help themĀ develop a strategy for a major expansion of the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre.

Explorersā€™ Edge, Regional Tourism Organization 12 is gettingĀ $47,500 for two projects in support of Golf Muskoka and Resorts of NorthĀ Muskoka. Specifically, the funding will provide training opportunities to help tourism operatorsĀ identify and adopt new technologies and industry best practices, support social media andĀ strategic planning efforts, as well as establish experience-based tourism packages to help strengthen this important sector of the local economy.

The Township of Muskoka Lakes is gettingĀ $38,740 which will allow them to hire a youth intern for
a one-year period to support the implementation of the communityā€™s economic development
strategy.
