$320,000 is going to help area municipalities and tourism organizations. The FedNor announcement was made today in Gravenhurst by Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement.

The Town of Bracebridge is getting $155,000 to implement a tourism branding strategy, install new
signage and conduct a variety of marketing activities. The money will also allow Bracebridge to hire a youth intern for a two-year period to help realize the project.

The Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society is getting $78,750 to help them develop a strategy for a major expansion of the Muskoka Boat & Heritage Centre.

Explorers’ Edge, Regional Tourism Organization 12 is getting $47,500 for two projects in support of Golf Muskoka and Resorts of North Muskoka. Specifically, the funding will provide training opportunities to help tourism operators identify and adopt new technologies and industry best practices, support social media and strategic planning efforts, as well as establish experience-based tourism packages to help strengthen this important sector of the local economy.
