Bubbler debate heating up in Muskoka

Bubblers used at cottages during winter to heat areas around docks so no ice damage occurs is a hot topic in Muskoka. Critics say they’re being kept on too long and its creating dangerous conditions for people on the lakes by keeping water from freezing and disconnecting large ice masses. Lake of Bays is the first municipality to enact laws making it so you have to have lights at your location. Muskoka municipalities are going to be discussing the issue in earnest at the end of the month. Gravenhurst has discussed the issue recently, but no decision’s come yet.
