Collision leads to impaired charges

STRONG, ON-Almaguin Highlands OPP has laid impaired driving charges after a South River man collided into a hydro pole. 

On June 21st, around 7:50 p.m., police were called about a vehicle that had struck a pole on Inlet Creek Road in the Strong Township. 

When police arrived on the scene, they arrested the driver for impaired operation.

They also found the accused suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

After he was brought to the hospital, the 46-year-old man refused to provide a sample of his blood and had several charges laid including, driving while impaired, failing or refusing to comply with a demand, driving with no insurance, driving with no seatbelt, and driving with an open bottle of alcohol. 

He has since been released from police custody and is set to appear in court on August 27th.
