WEATHER ALERT: Snow squall watch for Bracebridge and other areas

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Port Carling, Port Severn, Rosseau, Parry Sound and Orillia.  Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced and snow will quickly accumulate. Lake effect flurries and local snow squalls are expected to develop in a cold west flow off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay beginning late this afternoon or evening. Under the most intense squalls, poor to zero visibility will be possible along with snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm in 12 hour periods. The squalls are expected to weaken and shift north Wednesday morning as winds become southwesterly.
