The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is warning people about a scam that’s going around.
People from across the province have reported getting phone calls claiming to be from the Huntsville Firefighters’ Association asking for money for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
The department says it does not use telemarketing services like this to raise money. If you’ve been the victim of this fraud, you should get in touch with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre by calling 1-888-495-8501 or by visiting its website.
