Britt man accused of murder in Muskoka stays in custody after court appearance

A man accused of murder in Muskoka is staying behind bars for now.

The charge stems from an investigation involving the found remains of a missing Britt woman. Thirty-six-year-old Amanda McClaskin was reported missing in early August and her remains were found in Muskoka Lakes Township over the weekend.

The OPP arrested and charged 39-year-old Mark St. Amant with second-degree murder and indignity to a dead body.

He was put back in custody after appearing in court in Parry Sound on Thursday. He’s back in court on August 30th.
