Significant winter storm coming to Ontario could bring heavy snowfall to Muskoka

A winter storm is coming to Ontario and meteorologists are warning it’s likely to hit hard.

Environment Canada is tracking two weather systems, one that will bring some snow Thursday and another bringing a much larger storm starting on Friday. Meteorologist Etienne Gregoire says they’re still trying to figure out all the details, but it’s likely Muskoka will be getting hit with a fairly significant snowfall.

Environment Canada is also predicting up to 20mm of freezing rainfall just south of us from Barrie to Toronto. Gregoire says no matter where you are, the driving conditions won’t be ideal.

Gregoire says more details should be released soon, but he’s expecting Muskoka to see at least 15 cm of snowfall.

The MyMuskokaNow Newsroom is tracking this storm and will keep you updated on road and weather conditions.
