Get ready for the cold and snow to hit Muskoka tomorrow night

Stock up on salt and brushes, snow is on the way. Environment Canada is calling for a shift in the weather starting Tuesday night, as a cold front is going to sweep through Muskoka. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says winds will be coming off Georgian Bay, possibly bringing some lake effect snow.

He says it’s too early to tell exactly how much snow we are going to get, but to keep an eye out for snow squall or snowfall warnings from the weather service.

Coulson says once the cold and snow move into the area, it’s likely to stick around for a couple of weeks.

Coulson says drivers need to be aware of winter conditions, as we’ve had a bit of a vacation from it over the last couple of weeks. He says there could be poor visibility on the roads and driving habits need to be adjusted according to the weather.

The daytime highs for Wednesday onward hover around the minus three to minus four range, and the temperature drops down to between minus eight and minus 12 at night.
