USS to headline free show in Huntsville Wednesday night

On the heels of a new album, Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS) is making a stop in Huntsville for tomorrow night’s ON Tour. The free concert, which is hosted by the Ontario government, features USS as the headliner, along with Courage My Love, River Town Saints, and local artist Juan Barbosa.

One half of the USS duo, Jason Parsons, says he’s excited to play the show in Muskoka after growing up with a trailer at Deer Lake. He says Huntsville is one of a kind, giving the example of the town docks and how they serve as a community hotspot.

Parsons says Wednesday night’s show at River Mill Park is an exciting one for USS, because it’s a free show celebrating the 150th birthday of Ontario, which is the province they are from and where the band started.

He says fans can look forward to an energetic and over the top show.

Parsons says they expect nothing less of Muskoka, especially as the energy in the summertime is at an all-time high. He says the smaller shows are a chance for the duo to get out and play for everybody. He says they are used to playing in clubs and winter tours, so this show gives them a chance to be outside and play for anybody who wants to come out.

USS is one of many alternative rock bands that come from Ontario, and Parsons says between July Talk, Arkells, Mother Mother and others like that, there is a community of Canadian rock artists across the world. He also mentions this will be the band’s first time playing with Courage My Love.

Parsons says they have more tour dates coming up, including one in Buffalo, Elora, and another free show on September 2nd at the CNE in Toronto. He says they also have some secret stuff in the works, but isn’t giving any hints just yet.

USS released its newest album, New World Alphabet, in January. Parsons says the band traveled to California in the winter of 2016, when inspiration struck.

Parsons says the band’s music has grown from the 2008 hit Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole. He says as they changed and evolved, their music and fans did as well.

The concert kicks off at 6:15pm with Juan Barbosa. Courage My Love hits the stage at 7:00pm, River Town Saints plays at 7:45pm, and USS starts its set at 9:00opm. The show is in conjunction with the Concert on the Dock summer series.
