New land being eyed in Bracebridge for expansion by Muskoka Medical Marijuana CEO

The owner of a medical marijuana facility being built in Bracebridge already has expansion plans.

Founder and CEO of Muskoka Medical Marijuana David Grand recently announced that he will be purchasing another 40 acres of land near where the original building is being built on Keith Road in the town. Grand says while the first building is going to measure about 65,000 square feet, he’s realized that may not be enough space.

Grand expects to have that land purchase finished by March next year.

In the meantime, Grand says construction on the first building is moving along fairly well, despite some weather setbacks. He hopes to have a portion of that facility ready to start growing product by September 1st. He says he’s been working on only bringing in local contractors and other organizations as part of a commitment to put money back into the community.

Grand says as they near the finish line on this first building, he’s already starting the hiring process and will likely be looking for over 100 employees.

He says the company will be looking for employees to fill various positions.
