Muskoka Watershed Council invites you to learn more about Muskoka’s environmental past

You can learn how Muskoka’s watershed health shaped our past and how it affects our future.

In August, Muskoka Watershed Council will be hosting Dr. Andrew Watson as part of its ongoing environmental talks.

Dr. Watson is a professor at the University of Saskatchewan and is researching how Muskoka went from an Indigenous community to a popular tourist destination and the role the environment played in these changes.

While he’s now living in Saskatchewan, Dr. Watson was a long-time cottager on Lake Joseph.

The environmental lecture is being hosted at the Huntsville Public Library on August 9th at 4:00pm.

MWC will be asking for donations at the lecture, with funds going back into local watershed projects.
