A sudden death in Muskoka is under investigation. The Muskoka Lakes Fire Department was called around 10:00 this morning about a man pinned by a tree in Port Carling.
First responders arrived to the scene to find a pickup truck down a small embankment. The fire department says the man was caught as the car stopped because a tree had wedged it. He was trapped between the driver’s door and the B post of the truck.
The fire department says it thinks the truck was left in drive or neutral, and when it started rolling down the hill the man tried to jump inside to stop it.
The fire department says the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected, however the OPP and the coroner are investigating.
