Bear sightings have dropped quite a bit in Muskoka according to officials

The number of bear sightings in the region is significantly lower compared to last year.

This is from the MNRF, which says so far there have been 41 bear sightings reported in Parry Sound and Muskoka.

Officials say compared to this time last year, that’s less than half the reports that came in.

West Parry Sound OPP Constable Kyle Ney says if you see a bear that could pose a danger to the community you should call police.
