New ride at Santa’s Village brings more opportunity for tourism dollars in Muskoka

A 60-year-old summer destination in Muskoka is staying modern with a fresh attraction.

Santa’s Village theme park has officially unveiled a new roller-coaster named Peppermint Penguin.

New park owner Sara Dunkley says she and her husband Brad had plans for the new ride as soon as they took ownership last fall.

Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller was at the official opening of the ride to cut the ribbon.

Miller says not only is Santa’s Village bringing in tourism dollars, but it’s providing seasonal work in Muskoka as well.

Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith, who was at the unveiling as well, says the Dunkleys are working hard to keep Santa’s Village relevant as a tourism attraction in Muskoka.

Dunkley says this isn’t the end of the expansion plans as she and her husband want to continue to keep the park as exciting as when it first opened in the 50’s.

She says they have the best focus group to approve these rides right under their own roof.

You can check out the new Peppermint Penguin ride at Santa’s Village all summer.
