Fire officials want residents to keep burning bylaws in mind in Muskoka

Muskoka fire officials want you to keep safety in mind when lighting a fire this summer.

Officials are reminding residents there is daytime burning bans in effect in municipalities across Muskoka.

Fires can’t be started until two hours before sundown and need to be put out two hours after sun up.

Gravenhurst has an open air burning bylaw also in effect in town.

Gravenhurst Fire Prevention Officer Robert King says a stray ember caught by the wind can spell disaster if it’s dropped into a particularly dry area.
