Health unit hosting a car seat safety clinic

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is helping parents keep their kids safe. The health unit is hosting a car seat safety clinic in Huntsville next week. It’s a free event, and officials will be there to make sure parents have the seats properly installed and to answer questions. This is the only clinic in Muskoka this summer.

The health unit says car crashes are the number one cause of death by injury for kids aged between one and nine in Canada. It also says properly installed car seats can reduce the risk by up to 70 per cent.

The clinic is at the Huntsville Fire Hall on June 27th, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. No appointments are necessary. The health unit says to bring the car seat instructions and the car owner’s manual.
